It's A Boy! (you already knew that)

Baby Mathews was born yesterday afternoon at 2:04PM. He weighed in at 5lbs. 11ozs. Jana is doing well and is in good spirits.

The baby is surprisingly handsome (compared to his two older brothers, also born at 35weeks). He came a bit early and needs some special attention at this point but he is in good hands. Please keep him in your prayers.

I don't frequent "The Meanest Mom" but I know Jana appreciates all your support, whether you are a close friend or a loyal reader on the other side of the country (or world for that matter).

  6. Congrats Mathews Family!!! I will definitely keep you guys in my prayers. I was going to post another choice of name but I'm sure you already have a great one. I was going to suggest

    "Kelvin"

because I went to school with a boy named Kelvin. It's a nice name...not too traumatic and Jana would love that nobody ever got it right. We were always calling him KEVIN or CALVIN...but not on purpose!
    God bless.

  11. We're very happy for you guys though we don't know you from adam and eve. My wife and I are intimately acquainted with high-risk pregnancies so we empathize with any (even minor) complications.

Our prayers are with you, your wife and new son (and the other three rugrats too :) )

  39. yay, congratulations.

Can't wait to read the post about how they won't let you sleep at the hospital because they have to check your vitals every 10 minutes.

  40. I think "elizabeth" may have inadvertently given you the PERFECT name for your son! Name him Matthew! How much fun would it be for the child to be named Matthew Mathews? Not ONLY would he have the distinction of being different from his siblings (which they would praise him for to no end, and give him countless hours of joy!), but he wouldn't have to remember an extra name. However, just to keep the variety in there, as well as teaching him about open-mindedness and variety, you should spell it with two T's. Matthew Mathews. It's brilliant... His elementary school friends will be jealous and all want to be his friend, giving him good self-esteem to no bounds.

  52. AW - YAY!!! I wish there was another word besides Congratulations: wait, I looked up synonyms (Dr. Mathews) and I found Well Done! Not sure that particular word applies, but nonetheless I am so excited for you!

I am anxiously awaiting, like so many others, pictures and his name! I do like Matthew Mathews - his middle name could be a K: wait a minute....my son is named Matthew Kerlin, huh, go figure!

How are the other three doing? Is Camber okay with the new addition?
