Cameron is doing great. The hole in his heart valve is closing up on its own (we have another echo cardiogram on Monday to check the progress) and he's off oxygen. He's making rapid progress on his eating as well; today he ate 50% of his feedings by mouth (they inject the rest through the very attractive orange tube sticking out of his nose).
For the past three days, we've had a male nurse named Rick. We like Rick because he lets us eat sandwiches in the NICU, gives us hourly sports scores updates, and tells us that Cameron is going to be a linebacker when he is in high school, even though we all know that he is going to play the trombone in the marching band.
He looks great!! What a sweetie!
ReplyDeleteSO sweet! I am so glad he is doing so well. Thanks for the update. He is in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteHe is just so adorable! What great news! Keep up the good work little guy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute baby!! I hope he continues to improve so you can bring him home soon. Thanks for the update.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear the great news. He is such a precious baby.
ReplyDeletehe is too cute!
ReplyDeleteOh how sweet he is, I just want to hold and kiss him. appearantly, I don't know how to spell my password, so I'm signing in under anonymous.
ReplyDeleteHe is so beautiful. I love him already. I can' wait to meet him!
ReplyDeleteThat is really excellent news!
ReplyDeleteOh that is the sweetest face ever!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad things are picking up for your sweet little Cameron. Play him the Rocky theme and tell him to keep fightin' :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear the good news, thank God! You're so great about finding humor in every single freaking thing -- he absolutely does NOT look like a trombone player to me.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the pics. Hey marching band isn't THAT bad... could be worse - he could be the lead in all the school musicals... hehe ;) We'll continue to keep your family in our prayers.
ReplyDeleteHurray! Hurray! Don't get too attached to that attractive orange feeding tube. You really won't miss it when it's gone. And I have to disagree with both you and the nurse... Cameron looks like he would be good on the soccer field. Just saying.... ;)
ReplyDeleteHe looks so much like your boys in that last picture. I can't tell which though. Probably some of both. He is so adorable. I'm so glad that he is improving and doing well.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to hear Cameron is doing great. I love the pictures too! He is such a trooper!
ReplyDeleteHe is such a doll. Glad to hear he's doing great!
ReplyDeleteHey, ANYONE can be a linebacker. It takes real courage to play trombone in the marching band. Go Cameron! :)
ReplyDeleteJana,
ReplyDeleteHe is just so cute! Enjoy these moments while you're sleeping through the night and someone else is taking care of little Cameron. That thought helped me get through the NICU days a little better. I wish I was there to fold your laundry for you--or organize a bookcase!
Sweet baby love - he is so CUTE! And you've got to love Rick's optimism!
ReplyDeleteI love Rick! He sounds like the type of nurse I would love to have in your situation!
ReplyDeleteAnd playing Trombone isn't that bad, I did, and you can imagine all the fun nicknames I got in HS...
Such great news!! And you might want to rethink the trombone player thing--we used to say they were the best kissers cuz their lips got such a good workout----now thinking of your sweet baby--it sounds so wrong----
ReplyDeleteI seriously did LOL at that last bit!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL
He is SO cute. As a photographer, I can tell you, not every baby is as completely gorgeous as Cameron! He is so handsome, even if he does have that sexy orange tube coming out his nose!!
SUPER! Could not be happier to continually hear GREAT news about Cameron!
ReplyDeleteHe'll be the cutest guy in the band! :)
That is a darling picture. He is such a cute baby. You can tell already he looks like the other 3. Hope things continue to get better.
ReplyDeleteHe looks great, Jana! I'm glad he's doing so well...
ReplyDeleteI know the deal with the emissions stuff...however, my husband (no names:) ) never gets the ticket..it's always me-the one and only time I drive his truck. Blah!
he is so precious. your sense of humor through your trials is both inspiring and impressive. keep it up. hopefully count dracula will be home soon.
