Cameron's no dummy. He's learned from the best (ie. his older siblings) that it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.
I caught him with the orange juice this afternoon.
"If you wanted a drink, all you needed to do was ask me," I told him.
He was too busy stirring the contents of the pitcher with a fork to respond.
When I got closer, I saw that he had misjudged the speed at which the orange juice had come out of the pitcher. It was everywhere, including down the crack between my countertop and refrigerator.
"Lovely," I mumbled as I tried to assess the damage, which turned out to be significant.
While I was behind the refrigerator, cleaning up Mess #1, Cameron shut himself in the pantry. I found him in the dark, eating potato chips.
You should tie that kid to you with a leash. LIke puppy training. A really short leash.

Cameron is the same age as my twins. I'm seriously thinking of investing in a dog cage. It will be cheaper than all the stuff they destroy.
ReplyDeleteYesterday my daughter brought home a picture she'd painted at preschool. She was so proud to tell me she'd hung it on the fridge all by herself. Unfortunately, later that night I found she'd hung the picture by pasting it to the fridge with Elmer's glue. Sigh...

ReplyDeleteMy 3 year old is exactly the same, hence the locks on the fridge and pantry now. My breaking point was when I found him in the pantry, standing on a chair, with an empty bag of Oreos. He looked like a bearded baby. :)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! He's the kind of kid who can figure things out. He'll be an engineer or an architect. Or he'll be the 'go to' guy in prison. KIDDING!! :)
ReplyDeleteMy Two-year old (i'm sorry...22 month old) is already tearing the house to shreds. Her favorite things to snatch...anything electronic that she can take apart...I keep moving things higher and higher. My only saving grace is that she isn't climbing the bookshelves yet!

ReplyDeleteI feel your pain.My daughter is so independent- wanting to do EVERYTHING by herself. Its quite frustrating but I guess kind of great at the same time!! She is 4 so its good thats shes attempting to do stuff on her own.
