Our Little Dracula

The bad news is that last night Cameron's hemoglobin count dropped again and he needed another blood transfusion.

The good news is that he was healthy enough this time to wear his vampire cape during the transfusion.

  6. Hospitals aren't fun, but I'm so glad to see that the little man is strong enough to have a little halloween fun. Hmmm.... Transfusion and blood sucking vampire? Pun intended?

  10. Personally, I'd be a bit nervous, the way he's eying your neck in the second picture. Pondering dessert, perhaps? O.o

  11. Cute cape! Which begs the question will they let him get all dressed up for Halloween?

Ewww, and being Act Committee Chair, what are you planning for the ward? (typed very sarcastically)

Is everyone current on their blood donating? There are many little vampires in NICUs out there that need it. 1-800-GIVE-LIFE (Yep, I plugged the Red Cross in your comments, sorry.)

  13. Oh, Meanest Mom, thank you for that! I was giggling at my computer and thinking of what a wonderful perspective you have. I bet those NICU nurses gave a few sideways glances for your dark sense of humor. I found it especially funny because I'm reading Midnight Sun right now and thinking of all things vampires.

You're great, thanks for the laughs! :)

  20. Cute, cute.

You should take a picture every year with him and the cape so you can see how much he has grown and how little he use to be. It'll be really funny when he's 16 and it can't even fit around his neck!

  21. Okay, seriously. I don't usually laugh out loud before 8am. Then I had to explain to my husband what I was laughing at, which meant I had to explain all about how hilarious you are and how you have this baby in the NICU (He's like, oh yeah, that's hysterical). So then I showed him the picture and we decided you're awesome and if anyone in this family ever needs blood transfusions for any reason we're getting a vampire cape.

So thanks for the inspiration so early in the morning. :)

  22. So you didn't have comments enabled in your recent post, but I wanted to tell you how amazing you are. Just that simple little "hey, she could use a nice thing" thought popped in your head with no thought to yourself shows how amazing you are.

I hope people pay that forward, the world could really use that right about now.

  25. So, have you figured out how to add little fangs to that awesome cape for those extra special occasions--like the upcoming Halloween Holiday? I can't wait to see those pictures! I shared this post with my husband and he laughed out loud too. I have been a lurker on your blog for a couple of months couldn't resist commenting on this one. Thanks for brightening my days!
