New Year, New Me!

One of my resolutions for the new year is to update my style. My look for 2008 could best be described as "I've just been mauled by a mountain lion." For 2009, I'm going for the equally attractive but slightly more understated "I'm slowly being pecked to death by a flock of chickens" look.

It's only the second day of the new year, and I'm already making great strides toward embodying my new vision of mother martyrdom. Yesterday, in the mall parking lot, I hit the bridge of my nose on my car's trunk door (don't ask). The cut took over an hour to clot, giving store employees, fellow shoppers, and other good Samaritans plenty of time to tap me on my shoulder and let me know that my forehead was bleeding.

We're off to a great start! How about you?!!!!

Haha, I'm always one to provide entertainment for curious bystanders in the form of falls, head bashing, finger slamming, etc. Hope you have no lasting effects. You should alter your goal look to 'being pecked to death by a flock of wild children.' I'm going for the 'My hair is being pulled out by my wild sasquatch son.'

that is a great look on you. I really like your hair cut by the way. That is a great length. You have always had great hair.

So not fair that you are still gorgeous with gaping head wounds.

While my family was passing around pink eye I had a black eye. It's just now going away (2 sunday's of explaining). I assume I will get the 2nd generation of pink eye. Yay!

My 'thing' is fitness.
I hate being wobbly and unfit and am determined to do something about it. I've even bought a fit ball and a skipping rope and a pair of running shoes.
Now I just need to motivate myself to use them . . .

i like the new hair cut. it's good to see you still look like jana, even with 'short' hair.

I got four stitches above my right eye while cleaning my car so I could pick up some potential recruits for my "resolve" to make it in Mary Kay. Needless to say, my MK activity abruptly declined. Well, photoshopped or not, you are still a lovely looking person.

Sorry. That was pretty funny. I too am determined to work on my style this year. My 2008 look was more like "I've just been hit by a tsunami" Maybe I can downgrade this year to a level II hurricane.
I don't know about you but this whole 4 kids thing is a whole 'nother ballgame. I don't know how you deal with everything plus health issues plus daily blogging. And with a sense of humor! You're making the rest of us look bad. Seriously.

ha -this exact thing happened to me when I went home to visit my parents a few weeks ago. It happened at the airport though and the check in guy didn't say a word to me and I didn't realize how bad it was bleeding. I only wish I had gotten a good photo to prove it. funny. Good luck on the healing.

It is always refreshing to hear a bitter woman in her thirties choose such a selfless resolution. God bless you for taking the steps to improve your angry lesbian style. Maybe next year you will focus on kindness and respect towards those you deem "less worthy".

OUCH! But at least you have perfect teeth!!!!

Oh man, it's amazing how many I-see-stars moments can come along with the day to day grind. You ARE however the loveliest version of mauled and pecked that I've seen.

Huh? Surely this isn't serious.

So

What happened to your nose?

I am dead serious, RickPS. I was referred to this blog by a Mormon friend and am in awe at the bitterness of these rants. Surely Jana is exaggerating most of this. If not, extended family must be extremely hurt by the comments she makes. I thought Mormons respected the family unit and other human beings.

I hit my head on my car one time.
I was leaving the grocery with keys in hand. I noticed my sunglasses were slipping down. So I jerked my head back in hopes to re-set the glasses and when my head went forward to get into the car, I smacked dead center of my forhead on the roof. So bad infact, that I blacked out in the parking lot for 10 minutes. With the door wide open. And a nice gentleman standing there asking me if I was ok.
I still get headaches a year later. lol!

Nothing says Happy New Year like an embarrassing public display of bleeding!! :)
The scar should only prove your astounding survival in this cruel world where you stand above the "less worthy"!

(looks like you have yet another stalker who LOVES to HATE you! Funny how those who are SO appalled by what they read always come back for more! Tee hee!)

Rock on Jana--I am a fellow BWIHT ("bitter woman in her thirties")although only for one more year. Then I get to graduate to the next level. I can't wait to be a BWIHF! Woo Hoo!

Awww I am completely new to your blog, but I too am a BWIHT for just one more year and you are quite entertaining and can't wait to read more. Keep doing what you are doing and you are beautiful inside and out, I can tell already! Wishing you a speedy recovery and quick healing process!

So glad I'm not the only one who has done that! I "whiffed" my bangs with back/trunk van door everytime I opened it for months. Then as I opened once in my driveway, I banged my head hard enough to knock myself unconscious. Not sure how long I was out - long enough for my kiddos (who were not one bit concerned about me) to get out into the street to play.

FOr 2009 I kept my great look on the outside (lost 25 lb in 2008!) but sadly had a heart attack on Wed 1/7, had to put in a stent. My dear little ones barely noticed my absence, since fabulous Aunt Laura stayed over while I was gone. I called my kids from the hospital on Friday morning and they could barely speak they were so excited that grandma was coming!
