Baby Names

"Wow" is all that I can say. Thank you sooooooo much for all your great suggestions. I am truly overwhelmed by the number of responses that this post received. Clearly, you are doing your best to prevent us from naming our son "Cleetus."

Anyway, I am so going ask for your opinion on other things...so get ready. Of course, having a blog open to comments means that you can offer up your opinions (good or bad) whenever you want on whatever you want. Some of my favorite comments and emails from readers are criticisms. As Chieko Okazaki once said, "If both of us are the same, then one of us is unnecessary." Diversity in thought, opinion, and action is a good thing. Friendly, funny, and supportive comments make me smile and laugh (always a good thing), while critical ones make me think (an equally good thing).

Sorry I couldn't think of any names that fit your criteria...my daughter was adamant that we were going to name her baby brother 'Chuck' so I wasn't getting much help either...

craziness on the name comments! go jana!

my favorite comments are the people that get offended by other people's comments, because they didn't understand them/read them correctly. or haven't read 'freakonomics.' ;)

i'm putting another vote for KAI out there. finnish names have good potential for misspellings, although it doesn't really have the great teasing properties that you're looking for.

Ha... while Cleetus would just crack me up for the pure fact that my Dad called everyone Cleetus growing up...prob. good choice to avoid it.
Can't believe I missed out on all the fun yesterday! My 2 cents.. name with a K... just to keep things even!

I love Freakonomics! It is one of my favorite books...even if I don't understand half of the math behind it.

You honestly crack me up and I look forward to reading your blogs especially after a bad day you make me laugh....anyway as far as names I am not creative or funny like you so I don't have anything great to say but a good name is Kason pronounced Kay-son. Thanks for the laughs!

Would love to hear what name you finally decide on, do please let us know. By the way there are sites where you can create an online poll to allow your friends and family from around the globe to vote on your names list!

I missed the baby name request but like Cabell - I met a little boy years ago and his name was Cabell and I thought it was nice.

Can't wait to hear what you decide on!

Your suggestions are awesome. We made a running list over the weekend. Unfortunately, it keeps growing longer, not shorter!

Thanks again. You guys rock.

Kialysis anyone? I seriously saw this as a name in my local newspaper. You could forever mix it up with Dialysis! Couldn't resist!
