Christmas Cards
Further proof that I take my calling in life seriously: it's only the second week in September, but I've already ordered my Christmas cards.
The above image meets all of the requisites of a card-worthy family photo:
A) It was taken during a family outing, in this case a recent trip to Weeki Wachee State Park, home to a tank full of live mermaids.
B) At least one of my children is not looking at the camera.
C) It will look amazing blown up and framed above my mantle.
D) It highlights my exceptional assets.
Some requisites are more important than others.

Wow, I love it!
At first glance all I could think was: Man - your hubby is buff and strangely large...
On an entirely different note: How long do those mermaids have to breathe like that? I would die from lack of oxygen and general lack of knowhow (I can't swim)
Of course now the word verification is: nickbi - which just made me smile
Perfect! It also allows for your humor to come through and brighten everyone's holiday.
I agree, that is a frame worthy picture. Merry Christmas!
Yeah, it really shows off your tail fin. Seeeexy.
Can I just say live Mermaids are creeepyyy. Must be a relief to have the Christmas card photo already completed :)
What a fun original Christmas Card! Everyone will love it!
Ooh, nice assets! (Was that in poor taste?)
I love family photo taking. Two years ago I had to photoshop my six year old son into the final version because halfway through the shoot he refused to participate. It was easier than trying to coax him back.
It's been a while since I've been here, but you never fail to inspire. Christmas card photo has just jumped to the top of my to-do list. After I'm done with that I'll run to the school and drop off the kids' lunch money.
I love it! Everyone should have unique Christmas cards! It would make things so much more interesting!
Haha I love it!
those are some exceptional assest! If only we could all be so blessed!
OMG! Can't stop giggling.
tee hee! Love it!!!
LOL What a great Florida Christmas card photo. That place is hysterically kooky. I took my older ones when they were little and they were in awe at the live mermaids. I was just thinking I needed to take my little one there while she will think they are real. Sadly it is only 45 min away. You never appreciate the fine culture opportunities when you live near them. ;)
The only thing it is lacking is one of the kids grabbing your, "assets".
I am very jealous of your christmas card. Seriously.
Love it...and your husband looks like King Triton.
Love it.
You forgot to mention that you were revealing your husband's third hand.
perfection
!!!
WikiWatchee...always a blast.
You totally rock!
Wow! How does one get on your mailing list, to receive that in person?
HA HA!! Well, it's a lot cooler than having your hubby dress up as Santa on one of our beaches!!!
It is never too early.
Very creative!
So hysterical!!! LOVE IT!
Very unique Christmas cards! Love it! :D
That card is awesome. Beats a snow scene anyday! Plus it has comedy value which is priceless
I just came across your blog and I love it! Your stories are funny and I can't stop reading.
I have added you to my blog list on my site: http://kerriskitchen-texas.blogspot.com/
I love the way you all look so happy, but some creepy golem-like creature is about to climb over that shell and attack from behind. It's that perfect moment where the viewer can see his hand but the people in the picture are still happy and innocent.
LOL way too funny! Looking forward to more reads!

Great picture and great idea to use it for your Christmas cards!
I love the old theme parks in Florida. If you get a chance, you may want to check out Dinosaur World which is between Tampa and Orlando (close to Plant City) right off of I4. October is a good month to visit since it's a little cooler and not as crowded.
xo,
Cecilia
If only you had thought to bring Santa hats that day. Great pic!
Awww you were just up the road from us! Great picture!
