Do you want to hear something sad?

I already lost my driver's license. I have no earthly clue where it is or when in the past week it escaped me.

I am also missing a $10 merchandise credit gift card to Target, which presumably fell out of my wallet at the same time.

I can't decide which is worse.

Today is also the last day to register for the $260 Sears Portrait package giveaway. Good luck to everyone!

hate it when that happens...I think I'd miss the Target GC the most. Good luck with that! Happy Friday!!!

I have lost 3 licenses in the past year...it's like they grow little legs and walk off! I need to get a new one again so I can stop saying "that's not the correct address" but I know the second I get a new one I'll find the old one...that's why I have one with the wrong address now!

I think you should post an all-points bulletin. You never know; someone may be trying to impersonate The Meanest Mom. I suspect she used the gift card to pick up a copy of the latest young adult vampire fiction novel and intends to apply for a job at the local community college. (wink)

Well that's a great way to start the day. : I hope you find them. What store did you have to show it to? Dump your purse and ask the kids if they have it.

I was sad when I waited in line at the DMV, paid for my new license, with my new married name on it, had a new pick snapped, only to sign it in my maiden name.. didn't discover that flub until I got to the bank and the teller laughed at me. I then had the privileged of going back to the DMV, waiting in line (again) and paying (again) getting the pic snapped (again) and forced myself to not repeat my mistake.. thankfully I had no small children to drag around for the adventure.

I think I'd miss the gift card more.....at least you could get a new-possibly more flattering-picture taken, and maybe have something to post about your kids' antics at the DMV!!

I definitely would be more sad about the gift card. Free money is a bummer to lose.

I'm kind of torn between the two. I hate losing free money but, I know what it's like to go to the DMV with kids. I love your humor in dire situations. It's wonderful. I much rather laugh than cry if possible.

Here's hoping your license just shows up sometime soon. Have a great day to!

Have you checked your son's room for the missing items? Since you did run over his skateboard, he probably thought he would drop by the local Target to pick another one up. And being an offspring of a parent with a PHD, he remembered to grab your license just in case they asked for some I.D!!!! :0)

Drivers license. I spent 2 hours getting mine renewed yesterday.

I'd miss the license, it cost way more than 10 bucks to replace it where we live!

have you tried calling the police department to see if anyone found it? Last year I found one outside an apartment building and had an officer come by and pick it up. It may save you money and who knows maybe the gc will be turned in with it.

Definitely the Target gift card. Although the thought of standing in line at the DMV would make me sick to my stomach.

Did you check under the seat?
Couch cushions?
Under your side of the bed?
Your other purse - I mean diaper bag?
That spot on the counter where you dump everything when you get home and the kids are already standing in front of the open fridge door?

Rhiannon is right, you will find it as soon as you spend the money and time to get another one....

That is so not funny that it's funny.
Luckily my state is lazy about the photos and you can renew (and re-order) online. I get to have my photo from when I was 21 on my license until I'm 38 and even then, I doubt I'll have to get another one taken (now we only have to renew every 10 years if we want, until we're 64)

Lol if it makes you feel better I have two ID cards now. I lost one..went and got a new one..then found the other. Sooo I just keep one in a safe place and the other in my wallet. I know I was supposed to return the first one when i got a new one.. but oh well better safe than sorry! lol

In Maine, if you lose your license and it's current and no address changes, they will mail you a new one. You still have to pay the fee, but no standing in line!!
